Movie Quote

"Little kids shoot marbles
where branches break the sun
into graceful shafts of light.
I just wanna be pure,
I just wanna be pure."

This is a quote from the movie "The Basketball Diaries". This film kinda shadows the novel "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton in certain ways. Except with a lot more drugs. Ha!

My sister introduced me, (like other things) to this band. At first I was skeptical. After hearing a few songs, I was like "this is just a crazy hardcore Emo band." Don't ya hate that word Emo?!?
Anyways

It wasn't long before I realized this band was indeed excellent, and that I was infact missing out on some quality music.

Its relaxing, its genuine, and it has a melody to it!!

Do I sense a trend here? Songs with proper melodies in them? Ooo, double word meaning there.

Haha

Dylan

Words cannot even describe this guy. Where would music be without him? This song has such an excellent melody to it. Definetly Epic!

Bob Dylan - The Times They Are 'A' Changin'

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone.
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.
Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'.
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'.
Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'.
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.
Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'.
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.
The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is
Rapidly fadin'.
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin'.

Just Giv'r

This is a picture of me sledding over the spring break.
I believe it was Skip filming, and I just capped the picture from the video.
The position I am in; leaning off the sled, it kinda looks like I'm rock climbing. Haha!
Just throw a rope in there, and I would be all set. Not Likely! Eh?!?!?

I really like this shot, with the powder snow spraying out from the track.
Ole Black was runnin' well that day.

Keep on Skatin'

Summer will soon be here!
I am getting very anxious to skate again. It will be almost 10 years this coming Easter that I have been skating. It has grown to become a lifestyle of mine.
I was very much involved with it during highschool. Yet, as of now I try to shy away from the media side of it. Skateboarding has become so mainstream lately, that it has lost the true meaning behind it. Which is to have fun.

I say, screw the stereotypical values that go along with it...i.e. the clothes, the language, the media. That isn't why I began.

This picture encapsulates so much. It is Mike Carroll at EMB in San Fran. Classic pose, classic style. Almost looks like he's dancing. Artistic impression at its finest.  Posted by Hello

Chris and Synnott

I cannot look at this picture and not laugh. Synnott's face is just priceless!!
It was a ski-doo party in at my camp. We had drank almost 60 beer together by the time that picture was taken.
Skipper was trying to play 52-card pick-up with Synnott, and he was too drunk to understand. Synnott almost looks like he just woke up, mixed with the the worst hangover you can imagine.

That night was insane. Definetly going down in the books as one of the craziest sprees ever.  Posted by Hello

Song Searching

I'm going to defy this "no song lyrics" in blog shit. Post what ya wish I'say! Ha!
I've been searching for this song for quite some time now. I heard it at the Marina of all places about a year ago and asked some people what it was called, and they had no idea.
Other day I'm having a beer with Kurt, and this song starts playing. Low and behold he knows it, and here I have it to post. Weird how by having to wait so long to hear it again; made it that much better. Get out yer dancin' shoes.

Dire Straits - Walk of Life

Here comes Johnny singing oldies, goldies
Be-Bop-A-Lua, Baby What I Say
Here comes Johnny singing I Gotta Woman
Down in the tunnels, trying to make it pay
He got the action, he got the motion
Yeah, the boy can play
Dedication devotion
Turning all the night time into the day
He do the song about the sweet lovin' woman
He do the song about the knife
He do the walk, he do the walk of life
Here comes Johnny and he'll tell you the story
Hand me down mu walkin' shoes
Here come Johnny with the power and the glory
Backbeat the talkin' blues
He got the action, he got the motion
Yeah, the boy can play
Dedication devotion
Turning all the night time into the day
He do the song about the sweet lovin' woman
He do the song about the knife
He do the walk, he do the walk of life
Here comes Johnny singing oldies, goldies
Be-Bop-A-Lula, Baby What I Say
Here comes Johnny singing I Gotta Woman
Down in the tunnels, trying to make it pay
He got the action, he got the motion
Yeah the boy can play
Decidation devotion
Turning all the night time into the day
And after all the violence and double talk
There's just a song in the trouble and the strife
You do the walk, you do the walk of life

Subway

Can't beat Subway for some late-night snack action. Went and picked some up tonight on Altavista. Nevertheless, I run into some nincompoop ahead of me who can't make a decison if their life depended on it. For crying out loud, its a fucking submarine not a work of art. I pity the workers there for having to deal with these customers. "Hmm, just heat it abit...no just a bit...are those black olives? Have any green?...Ok I'll take the green...lettuce you say?...okay, but make sure there are onions on first....just a little pepper now...sprinkle it lightly...Now what kind of juice is that? Cranberry?...hmm..I'll take the Apple juice." Hahaha...even funnier writing this shit. There's my rant for the day.

I'm bad, I'm nationwide. Posted by Hello
